ACCPA launches Members’ Charter

Aged & Community Care Providers Association (ACCPA), Australia’s largest aged care provider organisation, took a step in enshrining the values underpinning its vision to enhance the wellbeing of older Australians through a high performing, trusted and sustainable aged care sector, with the launch of its Members’ Charter.

The Charter outlines what ACCPA and its Members value and the ways in which they expect to operate and support each other in the provision of services to older Australians.

The Charter describes the desired behaviours and expectations of ACCPA and its Members. These describe to the sector and service users the basis on which they operate as an association.

In stating its expected values and behaviours, this Charter reflects the purpose of ACCPA to lead, advocate and provide support, advice, and guidance to aged care providers to ensure a high performing, trusted and sustainable aged care sector, so that older Australians can live their best lives.

ACCPA Chief Executive Officer, Tom Symondson, and the Chairman of the ACCPA Board, Dr Graeme Blackman AO, signed a ceremonial Charter at the inaugural ACCPA National Conference in Adelaide on October 12, 2022.

Mr Symondson said, “The purpose of the Members’ Charter is to bring clarity around how ACCPA and its Members work in pursuit of a shared vision. In support, ACCPA has mapped the services and support that it offers to our Members to enable progress towards this vision. The Charter will also be supported by governance oversight and administrative processes.”

“This is also an important milestone in the establishment of our new national industry association for all aged care providers.”
