Cabanda Care has formally transitioned to Lutheran Services, with the Rosewood-based provider joining the organisation on 1 April.

The move brings Cabanda’s residential aged care, retirement living, respite and home care services under the Lutheran Services umbrella, while maintaining its local identity.

To mark the transition, Lutheran Services’ Executive Director of Aged Care, Tricia Davis, alongside Regional Manager Stephanie Wilson and Cabanda Acting Service Manager Gillian Hyatt, met with residents, families and staff to acknowledge the service’s history and welcome them into the organisation.

Established in 1987, Cabanda has long been a community-led service, built on local connection and continuity. That foundation will remain, with the Cabanda name and its ties to Rosewood continuing as part of its future under Lutheran Services.

Ms Davis said the transition reflects shared values and a focus on sustaining what already works.

“Cabanda Care has a proud history of supporting the Rosewood community, and we are honoured to continue that legacy”, Ms Davis said.

“The residents and staff are the heart and soul of Cabanda Care — that hasn’t changed.”

“Our focus is simple – to build on what already works well, while strengthening the service for the future. That means continuing personalised, compassionate care, supported by the experience, systems and innovation of a larger organisation.”

Around 140 staff have transitioned across as part of the move, helping maintain continuity for residents and clients.

For Lutheran Services, the addition strengthens its presence across Queensland, where it has delivered aged care and community services for more than 90 years.
